Brodit Active mount and Audio

If you use the brodit active mount, is there anyway to get sound out of the Kaiser to the headunit for using it as a music player? Or is it best to get the passive mount and some form of splitter?

I think there's an earlier thread where someone discusses how to 'adjust' the active mount's connection to get an audio out.
