Guest Rimjaw Posted November 22, 2007 Report Posted November 22, 2007 (edited) After waiting for what seems like an age for someone to eventually release a phone like the touch dual, I'll be off to get mine today, with a welcome return to Orange after 18 months of putting up with what I've found to be an awful experience with T-mobile. However, on the orange website I can't actually find detials of their data tarrifs. Is anything decent being offered at the moment (and is there anything that they'll be willing to give me with enough begging/scraping/bribery etc that isn't among their usual advertised stuff... I'm hoping they might remeber that before I went to T-mob I spent nearly £100 a month with them for the best part of 5 years. Though I'm guessing they wont)? Cheers! I believe the best they will do is a combination of offpeak data for £5 pcm 30mb per month (yes that is what I said) for £8 pcm. Compared to T mobile WnW, Orange don't do data.
Guest jimbouk Posted November 22, 2007 Report Posted November 22, 2007 There were rumours of new tariffs/bundles this month but no-one has seen them. There are a bunch of us on a deal from last year giving us 1gb for £8 per month, but it doesnt seem to be available any more.

I'm on that 1GB deal, and worked out that with 24/7 push email and semi-regular browsing I'm only averaging about 30MB/month! Hopefully Orange will see users like me and decide they can afford to bring in 'unlimited' data tariffs....

Whilest not WnW it would do me personally. Come on Orange. (he says with no conviction or expectation)
Guest El_Thicko Posted November 22, 2007 Report Posted November 22, 2007 I upgraded my phone recently and, when complaining to someone at retentions about Orange's miserly data tariffs, the very helpful lady I spoke to claimed Orange was aware that the 30MB rate was annoying the heck out its customers. She hinted that changes were in the offing, though whether those changes will be applied before or after Chrimbo is anybody's guess. Anyway, she convinced me to remain with Orange - err, helped admittedly by the offer of a free Kaiser.

Compared to T mobile WnW, Orange don't do data. For the Orange bundles, it has to be one or the other - ie £5 pm 1GB offpeak, or £8 pm 30Mb anytime. Apparently their systems can only cope with one active data bundle at a time. Maybe that has changed recently, but was the case in July ;)

Maybe that has changed recently, but was the case in July ;) AFAIAA it still remains the case. I can't see Orange data bundle customers putting up with this for much longer, so hopefully things will change soon.
