Frozen Contacts Face on Cube

I have an HTC Touch Dual on loan and love the device. The only gripe I have is that try as I may I cannot get favourite contacts onto the contacts face of the Cube. The phone is straight from the manufacturer so may have prototype software.

Has anyone seen this problem before?

Maybe I am just being dim :(
