Image quality on HSDPA

How can I stop the Kaiser from using terribly bad image quality on internet images??

At the moment the only way I can find is to click view and then show pictures to remove the pictures and then click it again to make them come back. Then they come back full quality. BUT this is ****ing annoying to say the least as every time it loads a page it has gash quality pics on it.

The main time I get annoyed with it is on facebook, all my friends look double ugly untill I flick show pictures off and on.

Any registry tweaks to be done to sort this permanently?

Cheers,

DJ

Are you on T-Mobile? They use a proxy which compresses the images, not sure if there's any way to get around it.

Yeah I suspect what you're seeing is the proxy compressing the images, and then you're on a different connection e.g. Wifi so turning images on and off deletes the cached (and compressed) ones from t-mobile, and re-downlodas the full quality ones.

I understand why they compress pictures, but does it have to be so shoddy?! The google logo's background goes a horrible shade of.. I don't even know..

Switch to Opera Mini, latest beta. Download the Advanced MIDP 2. You can change the quality of images shown in normal browsing mode via the options settings in the menu, and then when you click on an image it shows you in full resolution blown up and you can pan around the image with touchFLO. Then you hold down on the image and you can save the whole image to memory.

Oh, by the way, i've tried it in facebook and so far, it works beautifully for everything in full facebook mode, not the mobile version!

Great app.

it defo can do full image quality on web n walk, but like i say it has to have the pictures turned off and on again. I do not use wifi...at all.

just wish there was a reg tweak the image quality. I doubt it is to do with the proxy, cause surely it is going through the proxy still when it is full quality?

I will try this opera mini tho :(
