Key Lock

Very simple, on my i600, whenever I lock the keys (by holding down the end call button), I have to type in my "corporate lock" password to unlock it. But I only want to lock the keys not the device!

I am forced to have a corporate device lock due to my Exchange server policy, however I have set the timeout to 24 hours so it wouldn't be a problem if it wasn't for the key lock.

Am I missing anything?

What operating system are you using?

Might sound stupid but try: Start > Settings > (7) More > Security > Device Lock

WM6. The above allows you to turn device lock on or off, except I cannot turm it off due to my Exchange server requiring device lock.

I had this problem before I left my last company. I know you need to enable registry editing (should be on the wiki) and use a program like total commander to edit the regisrty. The 1023 key will keep getting reset by the policy at your company. I know there is an app which I had which will change the setting back each time this key changes to fix this. Once the key is changed you should be able to remove the keylock requires password option. Found the link (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=279073&highlight=zenyee)

I'm really hoping to find a way from keeping the admin forced screen lock from locking my screen so often with the screen off or in a semi standby state. (only an issue on the newest of wm5 devices with AKU2x rom)

the link is your original thread rleated to the similiar topic biggrin.gif

anyway, it's a simple registry hack. go to \hklm\security\policies\policies,

look for the value name "00001023" and change the value from '0' to '1'.

this undo the grey-out of the lock setting, i.e. you are now able to control inactivity lock option as well as the duration of the inactivity. It works very well for me, except that this morning, when I open my 6965, somehow the option is gray out again. However, after resetting the value back to '1', and after a few sync and push mails, I have yet to see the option being gray out anymore, so will monitor further to investigate under what condition will such registry hack be reversed.

Almost there - "access denied" when changing the value!
