Guest hxcobd Posted December 1, 2007 Report Posted December 1, 2007 Pretty simple problem..... I'm using Windows Fundamentals on my Eee. Working like a charm; runs well enough that it's actually replacing my desktop at the moment. However, my current problem is that, while the audio drivers work fine, MIDI doesn't seem to work. .midi files will not play, and my tablature program, Tabit, which plays back midi notes, also makes no sound. Is there something I should be doing? A driver update or something?
Guest Monolithix Posted December 1, 2007 Report Posted December 1, 2007 I guess its possible midi support was taken out of FLP by Microsoft? Did you install WMP? Edit: I have no WMP, but quicktime seems to have picked up the midi association and plays them fine. (Bat Out of Hell by Meatloaf sounds great in .mid :()
Guest hxcobd Posted December 2, 2007 Report Posted December 2, 2007 Interesting, thanks Mono. Yeah, it seems that WMP codecs and/or possibly DirectX could take care of it. I'm gonna reformat and install WMP11 and DirectX10 later tonight or tomorrow. Will report back with my findings.
Guest hxcobd Posted December 2, 2007 Report Posted December 2, 2007 Oh, Mono, out of curiosity, what OS are you using?
Guest hxcobd Posted December 5, 2007 Report Posted December 5, 2007 Problem solved. Reinstalled FLP adding Windows Media Player (and Directx, by proxy in the installer) and MIDI works fine. ALSO, it is damn near IMPOSSIBLE to get Directx with FLP without installing it WHEN you install FLP. If you install it from the get-go, you have 9.0c compatibility from there on out. So, to summarize: INSTALL WMP AND DIRECTX WHEN YOU INSTALL FLP ON THE EEEPC!
