Internet over USB?

I thought this phone could access the internet via a USB connection (i.e. to an internet enabled PC)?

When I try it doesn't work - do i have to enable something?

Hard to guess what your problem might be without any details.

when i connect my vario to the pc it comes up with the connection icon on the tasktray then i have a new connect in the connection options on the pc. is that for the pc to use the net via the vario's internet connection?

of course. activesync works perfectly but i was just wondering why the connection icon appears in the tasktray :(

Do you have a thirdparty firewall running, like Comodo or ZoneAlarm? try turning them off or allowing the activesync application interent access

I do have zonealram, but it hasn't even prompted to permit internet access which suggests its not even trying?

1) What does the connection say when you hover over it?

If it is the standard RNDIS IP connection between your device and you pc, then that is normal

2) Have you enabled the internet connection in activesync passthrough on your pc?

3) If so and its still not working, then do you have a proxy server between you and the internet?

2) Yep, all enabled

3) No proxy server, no.

Sometimes you have to restart the Kaiser for internet to work when connected to USB.I can even recall a time when i had to restart my computer.

The connection icon that you are on about...

Can you please explain which way round you are attemping.

1)Are you trying to surf/download on the PC using the phone as a modem?

or

2)surf/download on the phone using the computers net connection?
