Is it possible to connect to the net using a WM6 device and default OS?

After a brief flirtation with XP I have gone back to Xandros and am learning how to configure and use it. The big stumbling block I have at the moment is how to use my VIII to connect to the net. If I enable Internet Connection Sharing the EEE sees the HTC RNDIS under USB devices. I don't know what to do next and all the posts along a similar theme assume a lot of Linux knowledge. I have none. Can anyone point me to a set of detailed instructions on how to do this?

Alternatively is it possible to do this in another Linux distro? I have booted the EEE using an Ubuntu 7.10 live CD and thought about installing it to a USB flash drive. Is this a better solution?

Paul posted this link in reply to a similar question recently :

I use the program in the link for connecting to my Mokia Internet Tablet via WiFi on my VarioII, it's a whole lot faster and simpler than bluetooth / USB sharing, the application effectively turns your Windows Mobile Device into a wireless access point, then on the EEEPC it should be as simple as letting the device scan for WiFi hotspots and join one. :(

EDIT : I actually followed that link through to the one below and that's where I downloaded the nifty "WMWifiRouter v0.7" from ChainFires first post. :D
