Active sync 4.5 over WLAN?

I have a Vario III running WM6 and Active Sync 4.5. Is it possible to synchronise with my pc wirelessly (not bluetooth)?

I read somewhere about a complicated workaround (using fixed IP addresses etc) where it was possible, but its not enabled by default.

Unless you have an exchange server.
