Guest prawnie Posted December 6, 2007 Report Posted December 6, 2007 (edited) I'm thinking of upgrading to this phone - SPV E650 with Orange - over the next week or so and noticed that it has a voice dialing option. I'm just wondering is the voice dialing on this phone any good and how does it work? For example can I be sat in my car on the M4 or M25 and just speak to the phone and ask it to call the girlfriend? Might be bit of DOH question but just wondered how it would work - is there a need for me to break the law and press a button on the phone? And before you all lay into me No I don't ever use my phone on the motorway or driving unless I'm hands free - at the moment that means I plug my phone in with earplugs and an automatic answer facility so I don't need to touch anything and the call is short as possible. Second question - The Wifi facility. If I used this and it connected to my own Wifi in the house (I assume that this means it might connect to my own wireless network in the house).....would I suffer any charges on my Orange Mobile bill? In other words can some-one tell me how Wifi internet connection on a mobile phone works? Would it also work connecting to say a free wifi site such as McDonalds and would it cost me anything? My probable tariff is likely to be 500 free call time mins/250 texts/5MB of data - probably yet another DOH question! Edited December 6, 2007 by prawnie
Guest Looby Posted December 6, 2007 Report Posted December 6, 2007 The E650 is an excellent device. With WiFi enabled it will connect automatically with free WiFi hotspots and you can browse the Internet without incurring costs from Orange. Similarly it will recognize your home WiFi network and you can use your PC Internet connection on the device, however you may have to enter your Network Key if you have WEP or other security enabled. Once set up it works with no problems. I hope this helps. :(

Guest Paul (MVP) Posted December 14, 2007 Report Posted December 14, 2007 The speakerphone is good, I haven't used VoiceDial really in anger personally... P
