To change the name displayed on the homescreen, you have to know your carrier's operator code then proceed with the tweak...

http://www.gsm-security.net/gsm-operator-codes.shtml

http://www.prepaidgsm.net/en/usa.html

For instance, since I'm from the Philippines and uses 'Smart Telecommunications' SIM card, my operator code would be 51503.

Attached is a CAB file which will change 'T-Mobile' name on homescreen to 'gpcarreon' (assuming my code is correct). Install it on your device then see if it works.

CarrierName.cab

If it doesn't work, check the operator code. Using a registry editor, open HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\RIL\OperatorNames then rename the string 31026 to the correct op code. Toggle radio after a successful installation in order for changes to take effect (Flight Mode On-Off).

Remember to change the 'gpcarreon' value data to your desired name. :(

i really appreciate ur help but i can't get it to work for some reason :D

i live in NJ so i put 31026 and even tried 31017 for the code.... i change the phone to on/off in the comm manager.... but it when it starts searching for a signal it still displays the "T-mobile" in the homescreen... thank u very much for the help, maraming salamat!

edit: is it because that there are other operator names in that folder?... should i delete them?

edit2: sry... i just found this thread (editing home.xml), i don't kno if this will work on the shadow though....
