Guest gpcarreon (MVP) Posted December 11, 2007 Report Posted December 11, 2007 To change the name displayed on the homescreen, you have to know your carrier's operator code then proceed with the tweak... http://www.gsm-security.net/gsm-operator-codes.shtml http://www.prepaidgsm.net/en/usa.html For instance, since I'm from the Philippines and uses 'Smart Telecommunications' SIM card, my operator code would be 51503. Attached is a CAB file which will change 'T-Mobile' name on homescreen to 'gpcarreon' (assuming my code is correct). Install it on your device then see if it works. CarrierName.cab If it doesn't work, check the operator code. Using a registry editor, open HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\RIL\OperatorNames then rename the string 31026 to the correct op code. Toggle radio after a successful installation in order for changes to take effect (Flight Mode On-Off). Remember to change the 'gpcarreon' value data to your desired name. :(
