samsung sch-i760 issues

I have a samsung sch-i760 smartphone and its obviously smarter than me because I can get it to work any program that I download or ringtone that I download for it. It just yells at me saying that I need to run the program first and then this, which is whatever I am trying to run. Please tell me what I am doing wrong. THanks
