Guest emyllis Posted December 11, 2007 Report Posted December 11, 2007 I have a 2 gig SD card, which is freshly formatted... When I put it in, it's detected no problem. However the problem is that I can't copy any files over to it... The "manual" doesn#'t imply you need to mount the drive at all or anything like that, which has left me a little baffled as to what to do exactly to be able to copy flies onto it, and use it as my "music" partition... Anyone else had the same problem?
Guest Paul (MVP) Posted December 14, 2007 Report Posted December 14, 2007 Sure it's not locked? Should just work fine! P
Guest emyllis Posted December 14, 2007 Report Posted December 14, 2007 yeah... My problem is that it's found, and displayed as an MMC... But there's a folder called Nikon_d80, it's my old camera memory stick, and I can't cahnge that file name. Any ideas please Paul?
Guest Paul (MVP) Posted December 14, 2007 Report Posted December 14, 2007 'rm -rf' when in that folder should delete EVERYTHING, no? P
Guest Phil Lee Posted December 15, 2007 Report Posted December 15, 2007 I found the same thing in Xandros. It was ages before I realised that Nikon_D80 wasn't a folder, it was the disk label of the card. You should be able to go into that folder and add/remove files to your hearts content. The only way to change that folder is to rename it. If you're using it in a Nikon D80, whenever you format the card in the camera it will be given that label so there isn't much point in renaming it.
