Guest sning Posted December 12, 2007 Report Posted December 12, 2007 hi, just got a tytn2 from orange as a free upgrade. chuffed with it so far, but i wanna ask a few questions (which have probably been answered before, so i apologise in advance) is there any way to get a larger/better on screen keyboard for sending texts (even a numerical keypad that uses t9 would be nice)??? is there an easy way of getting a nicer home page (like the one HTC has on the product pics) where is the best place to look for ROM updates, i can see plenty of cooked roms (the choice of which baffles me, but thats another conversation altogether), i registered on the HTC website, but they dont recognise my serial number :D is the touchflo easy to do?? any topics i find on it seem to involve some hacking (which i'm not that keen on yet) or multiple files that need downloading/installing/modifying Sorry again if people have alreday asked these, but i'm rather new to this and sifting through the huge amount of info here soon gets confusing cheers :(
Guest creamhackered Posted December 12, 2007 Report Posted December 12, 2007 Hey welcome to MoDaCo :( The best on screen keyboard I've used is Cootek's Touchpal http://www.cootek.com - it's free for now but be quick! Someone else might have the link for the HTC Home, I don't have it handy but yes you can get all that stuff. ROM Updates, there isn't an official one from HTC so don't worry just yet :D Touchflo is already enabled on the device, if you want the cube then there is a thread on xda-developers for this http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=336482 Good luck :D

Thanks for the heads up one that one! Which version of that should I use on my Kaiser? QVGA or VGA? I've been using the PCM Keyboard PCM keyboard link That along with Contacts Manager from the same site are two worthy additions to the Kaiser.
Guest creamhackered Posted December 12, 2007 Report Posted December 12, 2007 QVGA definitely, unfortunately the Kaiser isn't a VGA device :(
Guest lozzd Posted December 13, 2007 Report Posted December 13, 2007 (edited) is there any way to get a larger/better on screen keyboard for sending texts (even a numerical keypad that uses t9 would be nice)??? Just to check, you've seen that bloody great physical keyboard under the screen, right? :( Edited December 13, 2007 by lozzd

Guest hotphil Posted December 13, 2007 Report Posted December 13, 2007 In waht way doesn't work? Is the option available for selection in the Today settings? Might need a power off/on again?
Guest sning Posted December 13, 2007 Report Posted December 13, 2007 In waht way doesn't work? Is the option available for selection in the Today settings? Might need a power off/on again? in settings > today i get "guava bubbles", "Orange", "windows default" and "windows mobile green" i would assume the one i just installed would be "HTC Home" or similar
Guest jimbouk Posted December 13, 2007 Report Posted December 13, 2007 The HTC home isnt the home page itself, its a home plug in. You need to go to items tab in today settings, de-select the orange plug in if its on, and select the HTC home. If yoo want a today screen that matches it, you should search for a suitable one to act as a backdrop for the plugin. There is a brilliant HTC Home customiser around (xda-developers) that allows you to change colours, clock style etc
