Using Napster with BJII

I have a napster to go subscription and it allows me to transfer DRMed mp3 files to the BJII. But, i cannot find any way to switch the folder that it transfers them to, it automatically puts them directly on the main memory, and I have to physically transfer them to the storage card. I know there must be a way?

1. Connect your BJ2 to your PC via data cable and open Windows Media Player.

2. Run Windows Update. It will find a patch for WMP that "allows access to external storage cards on Windows Mobile devices."

3. Install the patch (no reboot was necessary).

4. Check for updates from inside Napster to make sure you have the latest version.

5. Napster and WMP will now recognize the microSD card.

6. If this doesn't work, you may need to reboot.

When you transfer tracks they will now be stored on the microSD card and not the phone memory.

One thing I'm noticing with this... when I use Playlist sync within Napster it copies the entire playlist to my microSD everytime I connect my BJII. So I have multiple copies of the same songs on my card now. I view the card through My Computer > Portable Devices and the songs are in the \Card\Music\ folder and the playlists are in \Card\Playlists\ folder.

Any thoughts???

A correction/update to my last post....

When you transfer songs to the BJII via Napster it limits the mp3's filename to 25 characters.

If the filename is less than 25 characters the filename will remain unchanged, i.e. SongName.mp3. However when you transfer/sync with Napster it will re-transfer the song and just overwrite the original file. Napster should just skip the file and go to the next but it doesn't.

If the filename is greater than 25 characters, the last four characters are replaced with _001, i.e. LongSongName_001.mp3. When you transfer/sync it re-transfers the song, regardless of whether or not it is already on the phone, and will make a copy of the file, i.e. LongSongName_002.mp3. So now you have two copies of the exact same song but with two different filenames.

This occurs whether you transfer the song(s) individually, transfer via a playlist, or use playlist sync.
