Guest GrouchoDuke Posted December 14, 2007 Report Posted December 14, 2007 So, I picked up a Blackjack II last week & I have my GPS working with Google Maps & Live. That got me thinking...is there any camera application that will automatically geotag pictures I take with my BJ2? I've searched here and a couple other sites with no luck. There are lots of pages about geotagging your pix after you download them to a PC, but there's a GPS in this thing! Thanks, -Groucho
Guest wizgnome Posted December 21, 2007 Report Posted December 21, 2007 I have not found anything to do it all on the phone. The approach I use is to run GPS-VP (from http://gpsvp.garminmapsearch.com/?page_id=5) to create a tracklog on the phone whilst I am taking photos. I then copy the Track logs and photos to my pc and use GPS Photo (from http://www.carto.net/projects/photoTools/gpsPhoto/) to tag them. I have an HTC S710 and Bluetooth GPS receiver - but I guess the same approach would work with a built in GPS receiver.
Guest GrouchoDuke Posted December 22, 2007 Report Posted December 22, 2007 (edited) I have not found anything to do it all on the phone. Yeah, that's what I was afraid of. If there's not one app to geotag images on the phone, then it's not worth the trouble. Phone cameras aren't good anyway. A GPS & a "real" digital camera I guess is the way to go. Thanks! (Anyone else know of an app to auto-geotag images?) Edited December 22, 2007 by GrouchoDuke
Guest Paul (MVP) Posted January 3, 2008 Report Posted January 3, 2008 I always wonder about geotagging pictures. Doesn't an initial GPS fix normally take long enough that you can't be bothered to wait to tag the picture? P
