I have looked on the web for one and everywhere is saying 3/4 weeks. Is there anywhere you can recommend to get one before xmas apart from Ebay?

The reason why you can't find any is because they've stopped doing the 4GB version.

ASUS is preparing to sell the 8GB EEE which is due to be released in Q1 2008.

I think it's worth the extra 20 quid for the 4GB if you're using anything other than the base distro, but for the inbuilt Xandros non-power use only, 2GB is probably OK!

I got mine from Toysrus in Wakefield and it is the type with one one mini pci express port.

Also do not been fooled by ebay seller offering 1gb sodimm for £29.99 ish as they only cost half that at ebuyer.com etc

I think 10" would require a different case though - I'll bet Asus could fit a ~9" 1024x600 screen onto the current model without too much bother.

Team up a slightly bigger screen with more real estate along with the next Intel CPU/chipset, keep the price low (250-300 quid) and Asus would have a world beater IMO.
