Ok i recently posted about my device being dead and getting a replacement, well i guess it was easier than i thought and they have shipped out a replacement device. The problem is is they read me the terms and in those terms was "if we find any physical or water damage we will charge you $499 unless you send back the replacement and either way they WONT SHIP BACK YOUR DAMAGED DEVICE!!!!" I think that is rediculous. And ok i have a small crack in my lcd that happened a few days before it stopped booting. Ive kept all the factory stickers and screen film on from day one (been waiting for my screen protector) so im sure they will remove the screen film but you cant notice the crack at all, only if you look very very very closely you can see like a darker area along the crack. I have a oem lcd on the way and i was planning on replacing it so i guess my questions are should i send it back as is (do they take it apart and thoughroughly inspect it) or should i replace the lcd (does replacing the lcd require you to take apart the base or just the back screws on the screen?) and if you need to take the base apart is there a way to peel off the void sticker and replace the lcd and then replace the void sticker?

you could alway claim the screen was fine before you shipped it and it must of got broken during shipping it back to them. if you try replace the screen it will show marks of tampering unless you know what your doing and dont use any metal tools. that includes for unscrewing the screws because they are made to show tampering and are marked very easily

yah thats what my wife was saying. And im sure theyve gotten so many reports on lcd's cracking too easily because when i had my 8525 i dropped that thing about 5 times, on cement, parking lots, tile, you name it, i had a plastic clip on case but still no lcd damage. And one 2.5 foot drop into a hamper with a shirt at the bottom and a protective clip on case cracks that lcd!!! so im sure the damaged in shipping thing is an idea, i wonder if i "forget" to pack the plastic bubble stuff with it or say, it didnt include any lol...i hate thinking like this, i hate making stuff up if it comes down to it but somethings arent fair espcially dealing with expensive devices and warrantys, every little thing can screw you over so you have to create the perfect path in order to be within warranty.

So how was your experience with AT&T? I've read a ton of bad press about AT&T and their customer service. Problem is to use my Kaiser with 3G I may have to switch to them from T-Mobile.

I'm hoping, however futile it may be, that the 3G service from T-mobile will allow the Kaiser to do 3G. When they get 3G that is.

ok so ive heard back from htc, they quoted me that the mobo would be replaced under warranty but the lcd/housing would cost $192 (they also stated the housing of the phone needed to be replaced because "its such a tight fit that they need to break it to get the lcd out" and thats just crap!) I told the guy that that does not need to happen and im sure of that so he sent a request back to the techs to see what can be done if the phone can be sent out wit the replaced mobo and the broken lcd still inside (as i can still use the device its only a small crack). He stated that they need to replace the lcd for the purpoe of running the tests to make sure the mobo is fine so it can be covered under their 90day parts warranty. Any advice on what to say? Dont i have the right to get MY property back (the broken lcd) as is. They never stated anywhere that they would have to keep the broken parts by policy..
