Guest Transform Posted December 19, 2007 Report Posted December 19, 2007 in the favourite apps section on the today screen there is a change screen position button on there which was preinstalled (the pink t-mobile version). i never bothered with it until today and found it a little strange... when it changes the screen to landscape, it is the opposite side to when i pull the keyboard out. is this the same for anyone else or just me?
Guest burrzoo Posted December 19, 2007 Report Posted December 19, 2007 (edited) Yep...mine is exactly the same and it's a stock HTC version. it truly is odd..... Edited December 19, 2007 by burrzoo
Guest Transform Posted December 19, 2007 Report Posted December 19, 2007 is there no way of fixing it in the registry? its very annoying, especially when trying to use tomtom in landscape view without having the keyboard open
Guest mandt Posted December 19, 2007 Report Posted December 19, 2007 I don't think there's a fix for this, but an easier way to do it is to assign a hardware key to rotate the screen. I've set mine to the 'long press record' button

Guest mandt Posted December 20, 2007 Report Posted December 20, 2007 Start>Settings>Buttons Set button 6(Hold) to (near the top of the list)
Guest Transform Posted December 20, 2007 Report Posted December 20, 2007 erm, it still rotates around the wrong way. is there a way of making it rotate the other way?
Guest Transform Posted December 20, 2007 Report Posted December 20, 2007 mine faces away from the keyboard. does anyone know of a cab file or something that can put this right for me?
Guest mandt Posted December 20, 2007 Report Posted December 20, 2007 Ok I've been playing around and investigating. Assign 'Rotate Screen' to a button as above Soft-reset your phone, now go to Start>Settings>System>Screen and select 'Landscape (right-handed)' click ok Now use the hardware button to rotate back to portrait Further uses of the button will now rotate the screen correctly, i.e. anti-clockwise :( Delete the button from HTC Home so you don't have to do it all again :D
Guest Transform Posted December 20, 2007 Report Posted December 20, 2007 that works great thanks alot! i wonder if there is a way of doing that for the button on htc home...
