Guest Chris b.a.r.f. Posted January 27, 2003 Report Posted January 27, 2003 Hmm. I just cannot get the thing unlocked after installing the update - the Smartphone 2002 screen cuts to the password screen far too quickly. Hmm. And yes, I've followed the instructions to the letter. No unlock=bollocks, I'm off to buy a decent SE P800 instead of this SPV s***....and Orange can stick my custom where the sun don't shine - along with the app-signing idea. bastards.
Guest Lojt Posted January 27, 2003 Report Posted January 27, 2003 Keep trying, i had to do it a couple times before it worked ;)
Guest Chris b.a.r.f. Posted January 27, 2003 Report Posted January 27, 2003 Keep trying, i had to do it a couple times before it worked ;) OK, I'll have another shot tomorrow.....when did you start copying the files? Does yours want the SIM1-code to start up? Thx.
Guest Deathrow Posted January 27, 2003 Report Posted January 27, 2003 I've tried about 50 times, and can't get to work... AS just doesn't connect in time. ;) It really sucks! /Silas D-P
Guest Firaas Posted January 27, 2003 Report Posted January 27, 2003 My files weren't copied until it hit the home screen, but it worked, the phone was no longe certified...
Guest Paul [MVP] Posted January 27, 2003 Report Posted January 27, 2003 I just restored my old IPSM. Lost no settings, and still have new version ;) P

Guest DJHope Posted January 27, 2003 Report Posted January 27, 2003 Did you switch the sim lock on? Oh well i just used my backed up IPSM does anyone think that even orange wont be able to plug this cert hole? DJ Hope
Guest muude Posted January 27, 2003 Report Posted January 27, 2003 I've noticed that only the Danes experience this problem... It's not just because were dumb, there must be a special ting here...

Guest Gorskar Posted January 27, 2003 Report Posted January 27, 2003 I had a difficult job uncertifying my phone (not done any updates), but got it eventually. Key things to note: 1) instead of using power button to reset phone from 3colour canry screen after hard reset, pull the battery out for about 15sec then replace and turn on phone. 2) Copy files asap, ie when the files become visible in the windows folder again 3) Dont worry if homescreen reappears before copy is finished, just WAIT a minute or two and then check your favorites. 4) It has been suggested that you might get a bit more time to upload if you turn on the PIN request. (not tested this) Hope that helps...
Guest Lojt Posted January 27, 2003 Report Posted January 27, 2003 Well, i just did like explained in the guide... waited for active sync to connect (the pin code screen did popup before activesync was ready) and then copied the files over.... oh, remember to wait like 10 mins before trying again. sometimes it can take that long for the phone to load the xml's.
Guest muude Posted January 27, 2003 Report Posted January 27, 2003 I've even tried letting it stay on the PIN screen after transferring the for files for about 10 mins, but it just doesn't seem to wor for me...
Guest muude Posted January 27, 2003 Report Posted January 27, 2003 FINALLY!!! I have succeeded in unlocking it!!! Dunno what I did different, though... Perhaps it's just a matter of patience and having to wait at every step... Well, good luck to the rest of the danes... (and the other ones who can't figure it out)

(and the other ones who can't figure it out) great for you but have you updated to phone too?
Guest Precognisant Posted January 27, 2003 Report Posted January 27, 2003 I 'de-certed' my phone, dumped all the ROM to the SD card, updated using the DK update and then just loaded, and only the, IPSM back to my phone. One poweroff / power on and I've got an updated phone with ALL my major settings! Thanks to all who are now developing
Guest muude Posted January 27, 2003 Report Posted January 27, 2003 I updated my phone, THEN de-certed it... Alt er tip top
Guest awarner [MVP] Posted January 27, 2003 Report Posted January 27, 2003 Hmm. I just cannot get the thing unlocked after installing the update - the Smartphone 2002 screen cuts to the password screen far too quickly. Hmm. And yes, I've followed the instructions to the letter. Go on every one moan at me but the only way I could get around this was to hard reset with my sd card in  and erase that way but I still need to de-certify no luck there yet
Guest aGeS Posted January 28, 2003 Report Posted January 28, 2003 Don't know if anyone noticed this one before but: If you update the phone with the DK update and the reload your old IPSM from a SD card - you won't have Danish menus to choose. I made the update, reloaded my old IPSM, got English menus, went into Settings to change back to Danish menus (am Danish) but Danish was gone as a choice in the menu! It didn't matter much to me as 1) I like the English menus better and 2) I hate not being able to switch SIM card and use my phone with my work-paid SIM card - so I just made a full restore from my SD card and now I got my "old" phone back. ;)
Guest DJHope Posted January 28, 2003 Report Posted January 28, 2003 Nice one aGeS so it does get rid of the danish rom update if you flash back! Yay this backup utility is great, I LOVE SPV! DJ Hope
Guest Rob.P Posted January 28, 2003 Report Posted January 28, 2003 I had grief with getting the de-cert to work, took me a number of goes, couple of things I did to help the process was to go into Task Manager and hiked the proccesses of Activesync and the USB drivers for the phone upto Realtime. Also flicked the phone in and out of the cradle a few times which helped kick start it early. Not saying it's gonna work for everybody but definately helped me.

Guest awarner [MVP] Posted January 28, 2003 Report Posted January 28, 2003 I'm finally de-cert again ;) at 6:00 am this morning I'm knackered now  My files downloaded after the home screen was displayed? And like I said in my last post here, I could only get to the boot screen when my sd card was inserted otherwise it flashed up too quick.
Guest Chris b.a.r.f. Posted January 28, 2003 Report Posted January 28, 2003 Good luck with your P800. See you around! Only applicable if I don't manage to get the thing unlocked - if I do then ít's all good (apart from uncorrected bugs + the *new* bugs with the DK update ; )
