C500 won't boot or reset

Hi

My Orange SPV C500 phone has gone pear shaped on me !!

Turned it on today and it automatically went through the hard reset sequence with a config bar. Asked for my 4 digit pin and then the 'please press OK to restart the device' screen. Pressed OK but just repeated the previous steps - in a locked out loop.

Tried the standard hard reset, pressing zero to reset to factory settings but just ended up in the same loop again. Still asks for PIN which surprises me - I would have expected a reset to kill the PIN.

When connecting to activ sync, I can view the contents of the phone and storage card so that part is OK.

Can anyone help please as phone completely unuseable and obviously needed at this time of year particularly.

You could try doing a hard reset the bootloader way?
