Guest whardy7 Posted December 23, 2007 Report Posted December 23, 2007 On a Smartphone that I had I could lock it by simply holding down the red phone icon to lock it. All I can find on the Kaiser is having to select something on the screen. Is there another way to lock the phone without having to get the stylus out or try to fingernail the small space that it occupies? whardy7

Guest mandt Posted December 23, 2007 Report Posted December 23, 2007 You can lock the Kaiser in the same way, just hold the red button. This also means you can get rid of that 'orrible 'device locked' today plugin :(
Guest lozzd Posted December 24, 2007 Report Posted December 24, 2007 It isn't for everyone, but in the last two devices I've used I've got very used to putting the "device locked" item right under the Date/Time. Then its either two jogs down and a press on the jog wheel, or two downs on the d-pad and a press. Most of the time I'm just getting my phone out to check/delete/read email, so I'm on the jog wheel anyway. One handed operation :(

Guest lozzd Posted December 24, 2007 Report Posted December 24, 2007 Heh, you may not believe this but I think that takes too long! I've got very quick at the action of scrolling and err pressing! So its quicker than standing there holding the button, especially when I've been using the jog wheel anyway to read my emails :(
Guest FlexiPack Posted December 26, 2007 Report Posted December 26, 2007 I'm using Vijay555's Device Lock with AEB plus which is a very simply shortcut to lock and power off the screen with one button press. Using AEB Plus I've assigned a double click of the Ok button (The one under the red end call button, not the one on the side) to activate Device Lock which locks the Kaiser and turns off the screen. A single press of the Ok button still does what it originally did. AEB Plus Device Lock Note the Device Lock didn't come with a shortcut for the lock and Turn off screen in the programs folder for some reason. All you need to do is edit one of the shortcuts in Windows/Start Menu/Programs/Vijay555 and change the ending to -displayoff and save it as a new .lnk file with a name of your choice. Then Use AEB PLus to assigned a button of your choice to that newly created shortcut.
Guest lozzd Posted December 26, 2007 Report Posted December 26, 2007 I've just started using S2U2 thanks to this thread.. There's a cool piece of software! I haven't come up with a good background image yet though.. Boo. And it displays my SPB Weather info degrees Fahrenheit instead of Celsius :(

Guest doctormetal Posted December 28, 2007 Report Posted December 28, 2007 I cannot make it lock with the red button like the other phone. I have held it for 30 seconds and it never locks. Strange... If I hold the red button the device will lock after 3 seconds. This is on an unbranded Tytn II (htc kaiser 130).
Guest tsutton Posted December 28, 2007 Report Posted December 28, 2007 Works fine on my MDA Vario III - takes about 2 to 3 seconds for the screen to lock after pressing down the red button.
Guest RickDawson Posted December 28, 2007 Report Posted December 28, 2007 mine never did this from the start, but about 2 or 3 weeks ago it started doing this :( I don't know why...
Guest Webreaper Posted December 28, 2007 Report Posted December 28, 2007 I cannot make it lock with the red button like the other phone. I have held it for 30 seconds and it never locks. Is yours a Voda 1615?
Guest Radeon12345 Posted December 28, 2007 Report Posted December 28, 2007 Mine won't lock with the red button either, my phone is the Orange HTC Tytn 2.
Guest whardy7 Posted December 29, 2007 Report Posted December 29, 2007 I am not sure what mine is technically, but it is branded the At&T Tilt. It simply doesn't matter how long I hold the red button down. It doesn't lock.
