Hi,

I was wondering if yo uguys have seen big differences in terms of battery life when running either XP or Vista on the Eee PC. I would imagine that with Vista the battery would drain a lot faster.

Also, I have read that the processor is capped to 600 MHz, does this change to 900 MHz when loading XP?

Thanks

Getting 3 1/2 hours on Vista here and over 4 hours on Tiger and Leopard.

YES VIDEO IS ALMOST DONE!

Given that the CPU is a low power Celeron-M running at 600-900 Mhz, the disk is solid state and the screen is a fairly weeny 7" is anyone else surprised that the battery life is only 3.5 hrs or so?

What's the deal there - is the battery just extra weedy or something as I'd expect to get quite a bit more life out of a machine with these specs....

Once running at 900mhz battery life is alot less!

I just updated bios to my Vista ASUS EEE PC to get it running 900mhz. Battery life is only around 2- 2.5 hours, but holly crap much faster. Going to try it on my Tiger ASUS EEE PC, after im done doing my video.

the battery life with this 5200mAh battery is just extremely poor!

using Xandros in easy mode should save lotsa energy but i can hardly make 3.5 hours.

my 12" with 1.6Ghz Centrino and 4200mAh battery lasts for 4.5 hours!!!

Yeah - that's what I'm talking about. For a low-Mhz power saving CPU the machine really does seem to have a pretty weedy battery life (though still reasonable compared to a typical laptop). What is eating all that power - surely not the 7" screen :(
