Guest Wayne1 Posted December 26, 2007 Report Posted December 26, 2007 Hi After I installed and after deinstalled the PocketMusic player on my HTC Vox smartphone, I can't use MP3 files as ringtones anymore :( If I open the MP3 files over the MediaPlayer, all songs where played normaly, but I can't choose a MP3 file as ringtone! Only WAV files can used as ringtones now :D Any suggestions? Thx Wayne
Guest Disco Stu Posted December 26, 2007 Report Posted December 26, 2007 I'm surprised this is still happening but this should fix it : http://www.modaco.com/content/Smartphone-G...Wont-play-mp3s/ Basically you need to reassociate MP3s with Windows Media Player.
Guest gpcarreon (MVP) Posted December 26, 2007 Report Posted December 26, 2007 Could be association problem as stated by Disco Stu. Kindly check if the following registry values will work on your phone: [HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\MP3File\Shell\Open\Command] "Default" = "wmplayer.exe "%1"" [HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\MP3File\Shellex\EventSoundHandlers\{245F94CF-DD9C-46F9-B4C8-D2B14A877893}] "Default" = "XME EventSound Player" [HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\MP3File\DefaultIcon] "Default" = "wmplayer.exe,-2001" [HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\MP3File] "EditFlags" = dword : 00010000 "Default" = "MP3 Format Sound" [HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\.mp3] "Default" = "MP3File"
