Guest Bwana The Iguana Posted December 26, 2007 Report Posted December 26, 2007 So I hard reset my phone to see if it would overcome the hanging problem I had after sending a MMS message. After about 5 hours of re0installing software and editing the registry with a few cosmetic changes, I wanted to put my music back on the 2Gb microSD card. The few issues I had with my phone are fixed, but now the synching of music seems to hang after about 20-30 songs. I need to disconnect from the PC, let it sit a while (or reboot both machines) and continue the sync after a bit. It's driving me batty. Before the hard reset I could sync 400 songs to the card without any problems. Suggestions anyone?
Guest chaznet Posted December 26, 2007 Report Posted December 26, 2007 WMP (whatever version comes with Vista Ultimate) doesn't even see my Shadow, or the 2gb card that's in it. If I insert the card directly into my laptop, I can copy stuff to it that way (which is actually a lot faster) but not via WMP. This happened with my Dash way back, and I have a fix -- but that fix didn't work for my Shadow: WMP11-Mobile Sync Fix Step One -In the main device directory delete the file WMPInfo.xml -Delete the \Application Data\Microsoft\Media Player\ directory and all of the files in it including the WMDRM folder. -Delete the \Music folder Step Two -Go to your storage card main directory and delete the file WMPInfo.xml -Delete the folder \Storage Card\MSMETADATA -Delete the folder \Storage Card\WMDRM -Delete the folder \Storage Card\Music Step Three -Repeat step two for any other storage cards. Step Four -Refresh devices in WMP and the storages card should show up in the left tab and in the sync window you can click “Next Device”
Guest Bwana The Iguana Posted December 27, 2007 Report Posted December 27, 2007 It's not so much that I have trouble finding the card. Everything works just dandy really. It's just that 1/3 down the way of synching the Synch will 'hang' with WMP11 reporting that it's synchronizing a file to the card. It's just stuck at a certain percentage and not going anywhere... I'll check your workaround. Hope it works, thanks for the reply.
Guest Bwana The Iguana Posted December 27, 2007 Report Posted December 27, 2007 (edited) Dang, that didn't do the trick. Thanks for taking hte time to respond though. Sync hangs at 14%. I can still click STOP to stop the sync. I do that and hit sync again and I get this message: "Your device is operating slowly or is not responding. Until the device responds, it is not possible to sync again. To return the device to normal operation, try disconnecting it from the computer or resetting it." It USED TO sync all the way to 100%... I can't find anything about this... Edited December 27, 2007 by Bwana The Iguana
