eee PC for retro gaming ?

Whats the eee like for gaming ? Seen a fair few videos on youtube which look impressive.

I love retro gaming, i've checked and theres a lot of Linux emulators for MAME/Spectrum which i'm interested in and many others.

Has anyone tried any old emulators themselves ? I just wonder how well they would work with the screensize etc
