eeeXubuntu Live CD on 2G surf

Just downloaded the eeeXubuntu iso and burned it to a CD. Hooked up an external USB DVD burner to the eee and booted from it. Ubuntu takes a while to load from the CD but should work fine once I get it installed to an 8G SDHC class 6 card. There still seems to be some wireless issues but the nic worked fine when I ran a patch cable to the router. It automatically detected the connected and away I went surfing with Firefox. I also noted that a little bogus warning message pops up saying the battery is discharged(even though it was fully charged and on AC). Once you close that, the tray icon seems to report a fairly accurate battery reading. That is all I noticed while playing with it for about an hour or so. Once the wireless issue is sorted I may switch to that as my main OS even if I have to open the eee up and add an internal USB port with a large USB flash drive stuck in it. EeeXubuntu is worth having a look at if you haven't done so yet.

Update, I got the wireless working. It seems all you need to do it create a profile by clicking on the network try icon and then it connects no problem. I was trying to go directly to the network menu without creating a profile first.

Also, this time I booted without the AC plugged in and I didn't get the battery discharged message. For some reason it gets confused on the battery status when the AC is plugged in at boot.

Can't wait till my SD card gets here so I can install and run it as my main OS with the default Xandros OS as backup.
