Guest charlie-i600 Posted December 29, 2007 Report Posted December 29, 2007 Hello I have a problem whith, my Samsung i600. I can not configurate GPRS or 3G and MMS to my provider. Try also whith Preconfiguration meni, whit code which I find on Wiki. Set it to my provider (Mobitel-Slovenia) but not working. So I try to set it manuali, I add new profile in menu settings, connections, GPRS and new proxy connection betwin "Wap gateway" and "The internet". Then settings-connections-menu-advanced and set Internet connection to profile, which I make in menu GPRS. Is there any other settings? I can set GPRS on any other phone but, in WM6 a have some problems :(, settings for my provider are: IP: 213.229.... port: 8080 APN: inter.. User:mobi pass:inter... home page: http://planet.mobi.si No other settings for "normal" phone. How I set this in WM6? PS: I also call providers help center, but they have no idea how to configure it. PPS: I can make video calls, so 3G network is in range. Best regards and Happy 2008 to all.

Guest Confucious Posted January 1, 2008 Report Posted January 1, 2008 (edited) I can't find Mobi.si GPRS settings - what country are you from? The thing that looks wrong is the DNS settings - try changing to 4.2.2.1 and 4.2.2.2 and seeing if that helps If you are from Slovenia try: Operator: - Mobitel GPRS APN: - internet Username: - {blank} Password: - {blank} DNS: - 193.189.160.11, 193.189.160.12 Edited January 1, 2008 by Confucious

My prvider is Mobitel Slovenia. I try to set DNS in my GPRS settings to 4.2.2.1, 4.2.2.2 or 193.189.160.11, 193.189.160.12 but still not working. Must I restart phone every time, I change internet settings?
Guest Confucious Posted January 1, 2008 Report Posted January 1, 2008 Have you tried: Name: Mobitel Connect to: The Internet Access point: internet User name: pass: Authentication Type: None Primary DNS: 193.189.160.11 Secunday DNS: 193.189.160.12 That is, with no username or password?
Guest charlie-i600 Posted January 1, 2008 Report Posted January 1, 2008 Have you tried: Name: Mobitel Connect to: The Internet Access point: internet User name: pass: Authentication Type: None Primary DNS: 193.189.160.11 Secunday DNS: 193.189.160.12 That is, with no username or password? If I set in GPRS settings "Connect to: The Internet", what must I set in proxy settings? I guess "Connects from: The Internet", but what must I set for, "Connect to:"? It can not be same as "Connect from". And I am nearly convinced, the DNS settings must be set to 0.0.0.0, on all my other phones is like that. Now I also get Samsung i600 settings directly from my provider on a paper to set in manuali but still not working :( . I will scan it, and post here.
Guest Confucious Posted January 1, 2008 Report Posted January 1, 2008 You shouldm't need a proxy - those settings should just work. Might be worth changing Internet connection: Mobitel IE settings: Menu-tools-Options-Connections Uncheck "Automatically detect settings." Select network: The Internet to Automatic then seeing if you can connect to www.google.com
Guest charlie-i600 Posted January 1, 2008 Report Posted January 1, 2008 (edited) I erase all profils, from settings-connections-GPRS and settings-connections-proxy. Then add, new profile in settings-connections-GPRS: Connects to: The Internet Access point: Internet User: mobitel Pass: internet Authentication type: None Primary DNS: 192.189.160.11 Secundary DNS: 193.189.160.12 IP: blank / Try also whith 213.229.249.040 which is providers IP Still nothing. First I get 3G icon on right top of the screen, then alert: "Please check ID and Password or reselect Authentication type if it is necessary." Edited January 1, 2008 by charlie-i600
Guest Confucious Posted January 1, 2008 Report Posted January 1, 2008 Did you try with no username or password?
Guest charlie-i600 Posted January 1, 2008 Report Posted January 1, 2008 Did you try with no username or password? Same as before. Here are settings which I get from provider. (Sorry for bad quality, pic shoot whith mobile phone :( )
Guest Confucious Posted January 1, 2008 Report Posted January 1, 2008 So your orriginal settings look correct apart from the fact you were trying to connect to port 8080 instead of 9201?
Guest charlie-i600 Posted January 1, 2008 Report Posted January 1, 2008 So your orriginal settings look correct apart from the fact you were trying to connect to port 8080 instead of 9201? I also try 9201. Provider say both must work, 9201 and 8080. I am feeling more and more convinced, there is something wrong with, phone hardwear.
Guest Confucious Posted January 1, 2008 Report Posted January 1, 2008 I would be VERY suprised if there was a problem with the phone's hardware! The only other difference is that you have a : to seperate the ip address from the port but the instructions show a ; Normally I would expect a : but it might be worth changing to a ;
