Got Unlock Code from AT&T but....

Hello.

This is the first PDA type phone I've ever owned so I've been reading through these forums and a bit overwhelmed.

I bought the BJII from AT&T last week. I called up AT&T and they gave me the unlock code. I tried it. I assume it worked because it accepts another SIM card (Vodafone from Spain), although when unlocking the phone it didn't seem to give any sort of messages stating that the phone is now unlocked. (Can this be checked anywhere?)

Now that I have the Vodafone SIM in the phone, the phone constantly states NO SERVICE. I have an unlocked Nokia 6288 that I bought in the UK and it takes any SIM card. I use the Vodafone Spain SIM in the Nokia in the US and it picks up a network here just fine. So I deduct that that the problem is with the BJII.

Any suggestions?

Thanks.

I have received my unlock code as well and use my phone with foreign carriers where the ATT service is not an option. It does take a long time for the BJ2 to obtain a signal from the network, usually up to 5 minutes or more.

But it does work eventually.

Good luck.

Picking a signal shouldnt take 5 minutes in any phone.

it may be a service issue, not a hardware problem. Did you activate that sim?
