Few Problems...

Hi There,

I'm having a few problems with my kaiser,

the 1st problem is when i open an sms instead of showing me the top of the page, it goes straight to the bottom.

2nd problem is kind of the same, when I open an e-mail it takes me straight to halfway down the page.

And I at least hope finally, my 3rd problems is the sluggishness of the keyboard response. What I'm meaning is when I go to 'new sms' in portrait mode then slide the keyboard out to type there is a very slow response to the keyboard for the 1st 5 seconds then it seems fine after that.

Has anyone had any experiences similar to these? or Can anyone help me resolve these issues?

The thing is it was working fine until 2 weeks ago when the 2 messaging problems started to occur, so maybe i have done something to it by accident

Have you ever soft reset it just for the sake of asking?

Yep, its been soft reset a number of times since then.

I don't know if its possible but I had paul's tweak pack (0.2) installed and then I installed the tweak pack from xda-dev. That was ages ago, but about the same time as my problems started I uninstalled paul's tweak pack. Do you reckon that could have something to do with it?

There was *something* that caused that issue with the scrolling to the bottom/middle. I'm sorry but I can't remember for the life of me what it was. Try doing a search... Maybe that will reveal it. If not, hopefully someone else will have the answer.

I too feel your pain with the switching to landscape lagginess... The best cure is to disable the autocomplete. I found that sped up typing no end. And with a keyboard, it's not really neccesary.. it takes it longer to suggest something that isn't relevant and then for you to select it than it does just to type it. Other than that, if it gets really bad I soft reset and it gets snappy again. Not a great solution... Maybe we'll get a firmware update soon? :(

Thanks to lozzd for stating the obvious, so I did a search and I quickly found a topic regarding the same issue. It turns out to be something to do with d-pad scrolling for internet explorer. If d-pad scrolling is activated like I had it on the xda-dev kaiser tweak, it results in the problem i was having. One I disabled it (default setting) it went straight back to normal.
