Guest cocogirl Posted December 30, 2007 Report Posted December 30, 2007 Hello. I have a question. I have a black line on top of my screen. It's just in the middle of the battery sign. I don't know whether it's a line with dead pixels or if it's something else... I got the line when my S710 was charging on the pc (it was also updating through activ sync) I was trying to get a wifi signal and the screen jammed and I had to reboot. On reboot I saw the black line. I thought it would go away if I would reboot again, but unfortunately that didn't work... Has anyone had that problem and does someone know how I could solve this? Thank you.
Guest fraqture Posted January 2, 2008 Report Posted January 2, 2008 First thing to try is a hard reset. Though I deem the chance that this will solve your problem small, it never hurts to try as it might save you from having to return your phone. If that doesn't work you are sure to be dealing with a hardware issue and you should return your S710 for repairment/exchange.

Do you lose everything on the phone? Thanks!
Guest prajith Posted January 7, 2008 Report Posted January 7, 2008 go to 'Expert' in the start menu and select clear storage. make sure that your phone is fully charged when yo do this. One more thing, doing this will erase everything. Your phone will be like a brand new one. so backup your contacts and all information before you do a hard reset. :(

(yes I am a sissy girl :D ) Thank you for the info anyway! :D
Guest prajith Posted January 8, 2008 Report Posted January 8, 2008 the hard reset will not damage your device, if thats the reason why you are wary of doing that. It will just remove the 3rd party applications and that you can reinstall later. but for a fact I dont think the hard reset will solve the black line problem, are you sure that the pixels are dead there or is that a real black line? try changing the homescreen and if its still there then they are dead pixels and you should give your device for replacement under warranty.
