Advanced desktop enabled on 2G surf

One of the things I was disappointed with the 2G surf was that asus had disabled the advanced desktop and synaptic. After some searching I found that you could enable it on the 2G surf. Once I had done that I decided to try dl'ing and installing something via synaptic. First thing I saw was 3D Desktop. Marked it and hit apply. Worked like a champ. Did some reading on 3D Desktop's FAQ and got it going. Just need to see about setting up some hotkeys for it. Now if I can just get rid of unionfs I think I'll be a happy camper with the 2G surf. That will be my next thing to tackle. If I am successful with that I may not even bother with XP.

They have screenshots there as well.

I wrote some short scripts and hotkeyed them so I could run the aquire flag and then 3ddesk with different views(ie, cylinder, slide, bigmoney, etc.). Works a treat. I can run up to 5 virtual desktops with previews. Any more than that I get gray rectangles, which I am sure it is due to the limited video mem.

3ddesktop was one of the first things I saw in the synaptic manager so I read the FAQ on the URL above and then installed it and gave it a whirl.
