Guest Alkali Posted January 1, 2008 Report Posted January 1, 2008 follow the link the OP provided Thanks i have seen it.looks great!
Guest hotphil Posted January 1, 2008 Report Posted January 1, 2008 OMG, proper menu transitions. It is truly awesome. MS really need to start dloing this kind of stuff themselves.
Guest Alkali Posted January 1, 2008 Report Posted January 1, 2008 The quetion is i love using stylus and i hate to dirty my screen :( So-----
Guest Alkali Posted January 1, 2008 Report Posted January 1, 2008 And please how does the main screen compare with MOBILE SHELL or SPB POCKET PLUS?
Guest Stuart_f Posted January 1, 2008 Report Posted January 1, 2008 There were some reports on XDA Devs that it doesn't uninstall. Can someone confirm if that works or not?
Guest SMYKUL Posted January 1, 2008 Report Posted January 1, 2008 It does not install or uninstall correctly, not to mention many other bugs. I suggest you STAY AWAY from this app. I would suggest you wait until the problems are rectified, but with a group who are willing to release to the community with such major defects I'm not so sure. For example; even though the uninstall is broken they have not released a list of changes which are made during install, meaning that a manual uninstall is currently guesswork. And time-consuming guesswork at that, not impressed.
Guest creamhackered Posted January 1, 2008 Report Posted January 1, 2008 hmm not good. I will stay clear of this for a while...
Guest mark4130 Posted January 1, 2008 Report Posted January 1, 2008 Well it un-installed fine from my hermes.... if you uninstall it from the "Remove Programs" option in normal WM6 settings it doesnt, but if you use the uninstall option inside PointUI then it appears to uninstall fine.
Guest hotphil Posted January 2, 2008 Report Posted January 2, 2008 Ah yes. I've read through the bug list and the only one I've encountered is the Force-Close-actually-does-a-reboot one. Happy to put up with that until it's patched though as I only ever have the bare essentials running - don't need to force close countless apps every day.
Guest lozzd Posted January 2, 2008 Report Posted January 2, 2008 It just looks like a dumbed down interface for Windows Mobile?
Guest hotphil Posted January 2, 2008 Report Posted January 2, 2008 It's easier to press and the menu transitions animate nicely and look swish. It could be called dumbed down, but it's working well for the functions I use.
Guest jimbouk Posted January 2, 2008 Report Posted January 2, 2008 I am impressed. Although it doesn't do everything I like to do "out of the box", its a pretty slick interface. When you consider the number of Wm users who don't actually use 90% of their devices functions, I reckon this could be a hit.
Guest Kimbie Posted January 2, 2008 Report Posted January 2, 2008 Im liking it, be better when can change the colours etc. I use it mainly when in the car Kimbie
Guest shaun1208 Posted January 2, 2008 Report Posted January 2, 2008 how do you uninstall it within pocketui?
Guest mark4130 Posted January 2, 2008 Report Posted January 2, 2008 Go to the update option and once it checks for updates it gives you the uninstall option. Click that, and voila!
Guest Max Wood Posted January 2, 2008 Report Posted January 2, 2008 Can you change the background? (It doesn't work very well on my e650, practically unusable, but its not intended for Smartphones) and my m600 wont connect to ActiveSync for some reason.) Just wondering before my girlfriend starts questioning why shes not on it anymore. Haha.
Guest gregersdk Posted January 4, 2008 Report Posted January 4, 2008 Pretty cool UI, that "Home" as they call it themselves. But there are two major problems: 1. I do not want to have PointUI as my left action button on my Todayscreen, and therefor I exchanged it with something else. Now, however I can not open PointUI anywhere, unless I go to the folder in which it is installed through Fileexplorer 2. Major problem. When going to the Programs menu, nothing is showed. Could it be because I have changed it a bit (extra folders, moved programs around) or maybe because I am running Danish OS on my TyTN II?
Guest hotphil Posted January 4, 2008 Report Posted January 4, 2008 1) In the PointUI forum there's instructions on how to re-assign the left softkey. To relaunch Home, you should have an entry for it in your Programs list, or you could create a new shortcut for it. 2) I think it has issues with non-English OS's. Localisation is always fun.

Tried to copy the file that looked most as an .exe file through File Explorer. I know it is not .exe, but I am comparing it to Desktop Windows. However, that did not work. So how do I make a new shortcut on my PPC? A nice thing to know..
Guest Monolithix Posted January 7, 2008 Report Posted January 7, 2008 Well i think it looks great, and while the interface is swish, ironically their own config menu's are really unintuitive (see: uninstalling...). I've removed it in the end for two reasons: I couldn't adjust in-call volume on my Hermes with the wheel, and it didnt display notifications on the "home" screen, eg when using palringo. Here's hoping beta 2 will built on what is a promising app!
Guest xorangefirex Posted January 8, 2008 Report Posted January 8, 2008 (edited) Anyone think that this is better than the HTC overlay found on the HTC Branded TyTn II? Edited January 8, 2008 by xorangefirex
Guest hotphil Posted January 9, 2008 Report Posted January 9, 2008 (edited) Different yes, better? That's a matter of opinion. It has a few bugs still and won't suit everyone. But it does look good. Personally, I like it. Edited January 9, 2008 by hotphil
