Live Messenger - IM do not wake up phone

Maybe it's a setting I've missed, but when my phone (MDA Vario III) is sleeping (blank screen) and when I receive a new IM from Live Messenger, it doesn't wake up the phone like SMS/new e-mail do - it just vibrates.

I got fed up with waking it up to check to see if anyone has IM'ed me or not.

Is there a setting where I can make it to wake up?

In Settings -> Sounds and Notifications -> Notifications i'm sure there used to be an option for new IM, but I don't seem to have it. I was hoping in there you might be able to change the behaviour.
