Turn off GPRS?

Hi,

A qustion about GPRS for newbie.....

On my TyTN2 with Orange, when you connect to email or internet you get the message connecting to GPRS. 3G if you click on the small 3 icon you get a counter for the time used. I have noticed that even if you close internet or finish your email he counter still keeps going unless you turn off in comm manager.

My question is do you pay all the time this counter is adding time or only when you are downloading?

Is there a way to disconect after use automatically without going in to comm manager?

Sorry if its daft question, but have never used data on a phone before. :(

that counter is just the time connected only. you dont get charged for time on connected only the amount of data used. so that counter will alway go up as long as your connected but it wont cost you anything untill you actually use the connection to browse or connect an application to the net to update for whatever reason needed.

The quick answer is no you wont be charged while its connected doing nothing
