Guest WearTheFoxHat Posted January 7, 2008 Report Posted January 7, 2008 Hi All, After using TomTom on my various pocket PC's I am now at a crossroads. Do I purchase TomTom version 6 for my handset, or ALK's CoPilot Live 7 ??? The reason I ask this question is that TomTom has moved onto version 7 yet the Pocket PC software remains at version 6. There are some rumours that TomTom wants to concentrate on its own devices, than PocketPC software. No while the clear leader of sat-nav for a long time has been TomTom, ALK's CoPilot 7 Live looks to be fantastic with a massive update since version 6. So, does anyone have any feedback on CoPilot 7? More interestingly, is there anyone that has used both? Cheers
Guest Webreaper Posted January 7, 2008 Report Posted January 7, 2008 <cat amongst pigeons> What about iGo? :(
Guest RafMan Posted January 8, 2008 Report Posted January 8, 2008 I use Co-Pilot 7 and must say I didn't have high hopes for it, but so far it has proved to be excellent. I have a portable Garmin GPS and have to say this unit is as good. Only thing is you need to make sure you plug it into a power source as it seems to chew through battery power...
Guest WearTheFoxHat Posted January 9, 2008 Report Posted January 9, 2008 What about iGo? :( Tempting ... but does seem Europe restricted. TTn6 was invaluable in Canada recently!
Guest hotphil Posted January 9, 2008 Report Posted January 9, 2008 So, does anyone have any feedback on CoPilot 7? More interestingly, is there anyone that has used both? Paul's used both. He talked of doing a shootout in http://www.modaco.com/content/Pocket-PC-Pr...able-this-week/ but I'm not sure he had the time to get round to it - I don't recall seeing it.
Guest WearTheFoxHat Posted January 9, 2008 Report Posted January 9, 2008 I'm so very tempted by CoPilot 7! TomTom is a great app, and does the job well ... but CoPilot seems to have stepped up to the mark with this one.
