Does anyone know the ACTUAL speed of the processor in the BJII?

According to my about page, my BJII has an ARM926EJ/OMAP1710 - which the TI 1710 portion of at least runs @ 220mhz. I thought we were getting an upgrade from the BJI?

The BlackJack I has a 220mhz processor, the BlackJack II has a 260-MHz. Which some have overclocked to a max I believe of 288...

Right, i understand what it's supposed to have is an OMAP 2420 processor. But my about page shows an OMAP 1710 ... the same processor as the BJ1.

I'm just wondering if we ... some of us... are getting screwed?

Hmm...confirmed that I have the 1710 too and that TCPMP reports 217mhz sometimes and 220mhz other times.

As far as I can tell though, the 2420 is 330mhz? Obviously they could have underclocked, but wth?

I know my Cingular 3125 had a "200mhz" processor according to the specs, but TCPMP would always report like 176 or something....but idk, can anyone confirm they have something other than the 1710?

Scroll down and you should see something like this:

I've noticed that some things seem _slower_ than they did on my BJ1, which is really odd considering the BJ2 has twice the ram and wm6. It's really odd all things considered.

I guess somewhere between the pre-production samples they sent out to reviewers and the models AT&T sent out to sell they pulled a bait and switch?

That's the thing though, AT&T makes no reference to the processor speed of the BJ2 at all....

Well, I'm not sure who's able to use 288 as a clock speed to any degree of success, but that automatically freezes my BJII. Installing OmapClock shows that the BJII starts out at 240 for me and I can OC it to 260 without issue. Trying 277 will cause me to lose sound sooner or later. Anything above is a brick.

252 is the stock speed. Check out your omap shortcut on your phone and you will probably find in the target line having something like -clock240 which is the set speed with this specific shortcut.

Copy omapclock.exe to \windows. Create a shortcut and place in \Wndows\Start Menu. Run omapclock from there and it will show 252. I initially used an existing shortcut to the program which had the parameters -clock 240 in the shortcut target line and therefore throttled the speed to 240. After rebooting and creating a new shortcut straight from the program it showed 252.

thanks, but where can I get the omapclock.exe file? is it resident on the phone or is it downloadable somewhere? sorry, but I'm not the most tech savvy kind guy.
