Guest blink55184 Posted January 7, 2008 Report Posted January 7, 2008 I was able to change the display name of my carrier from T-Mobile to whatever I want…However it does not last through a soft reset, nor does it last if you use the Comm Manager to turn the phone off then back on. To edit it, navigate to: HKLM>System>State>Phone and edit “Current Operator Name” to whatever you’d like. Maybe someone can finagle a way to make it last a reset--- Here are a few other strings I was playing with trying to get it to work: HKLM>Software>Microsoft>RIL>Operator Names HKLM>Software>HTC>SIM HKLM>Software>HTC>SIM>ONS>ONS Value

Guest blink55184 Posted January 8, 2008 Report Posted January 8, 2008 i've been looking to change the carrier name in my previous post Yeah, I saw that thread when I was trying this- I read it and tried the stuff too...No luck
Guest blink55184 Posted January 18, 2008 Report Posted January 18, 2008 Freddy pointed out this utility that claims to be able to change the carrier name http://www.tweaks2k2.com/portal/staticpage...050317130430805 Neither he or I have tried it....
Guest RinkuD Posted January 18, 2008 Report Posted January 18, 2008 I think the operator name is initialized everytime the phone searches for a carrier. I doubt there would be a way to stop that from happening....correct me if I am wrong!!
