Guest xorangefirex Posted January 8, 2008 Report Posted January 8, 2008 I love the program, but $30 is just too much for an application.
Guest Cowie Posted January 8, 2008 Report Posted January 8, 2008 I love the program, but $30 is just too much for an application. I've just paid the upgrade (with Handango discount) which came to about $16. Unfortunately the installer falls over every time and I can't find a CAB file to get it onto my device. Is anybody else having the same problem or is it just me?
Guest tsutton Posted January 8, 2008 Report Posted January 8, 2008 So the 2007 version that was offered as freebies last week was a teaser to get others to upgrade to the v8 at a cost. Clever. :(

Alex has just put up a fixed version which seems to work fine. http://download.pocketinformant.com/8/Pock...t_Pro_Setup.exe EDIT: Here's the WebIS thread with a full discussion of the problems and their resolution. http://www.pocketinformant.com/Forums/inde...1944&st=135 Edited January 8, 2008 by dudegalea

Guest timeline Posted January 11, 2008 Report Posted January 11, 2008 Put the trial in, for PPC2003 it's much WORSE for ease of use than v2007. Some parts are better sure, but eg I can't even make an appt w/o an alarm now. And selecting appt date/time is much clunkier. Those combo boxes just waste my time when the old one gave me the picker in 1 click vs 2.5 now.
Guest dudegalea Posted January 11, 2008 Report Posted January 11, 2008 eg I can't even make an appt w/o an alarm now. I don't have any problem making an appt without an alarm in PI8.
Guest WearTheFoxHat Posted January 14, 2008 Report Posted January 14, 2008 How annoying ... I purchased this application on 29th December 2007 without noticing the freebie offer on this site. Since it is a major update, I still have to pay for the upgrade. Terrible timing eh!

Guest WearTheFoxHat Posted January 16, 2008 Report Posted January 16, 2008 Actually you get the upgrade for free if you purchased recently (within the last 3 months, I think). Well I looked on handango site and it said I have to pay for upgrade. I plugged in my email and order number. So I emailed saying ... "I could just return the software, as Im within 30 days of purchase, and then get new version" Thus they are contacting pocket informant to find out if I get a better deal ;-)

The app is registered to email address rather than phone user name I think
Guest tsutton Posted January 16, 2008 Report Posted January 16, 2008 I did try that but it didn't find my e-mail address. :)
Guest Disco Stu Posted January 16, 2008 Report Posted January 16, 2008 Tried the forum or emailing WebIs directly ? Seem like a decent company
Guest timeline Posted January 22, 2008 Report Posted January 22, 2008 Do you all get a crash trying to open any notes on PPC2003?
