Activate phone on receipt of SMS or Email

Hi, been reading for a while but can't find an answer to this question. I'm sure it's possible but I want my phone to activate (i.e. screen and backlight to illuminate) when I receive a text or email. I'm sure it's possible (I have changed the regsitry so that it works when the phone rings - changed it to av1p) but don't know where the registry is for alerts.

Please help me as it's driving me mental.

Thanks and keep up the good work guys! With a bit of tweaking these phones can be just what you want - shame it's such a faff dong it in the first place!
