Guest JDMinPDX Posted January 8, 2008 Report Posted January 8, 2008 Okay, regarding this regedit to get rid of the notification: Get rid of the annoying SMS Sent message RegKey: HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Inbox\Settings Create DWORD as SMSNoSentMsg with a value to 1 I dont understand what to do. To be honset regediting has always confused me. Is there a noob guide to this... What is the Regkey? Is there somewhere where I need to navigate to? And what does it mean to "Creat DWORD as SMSnosentmsg..." I REALLY want to do this edit.
Guest thelostsoul Posted January 8, 2008 Report Posted January 8, 2008 Hmm, interesting, I hadn't tested this one, and now see that there's a missing folder. Here's what to do assuming you're using RegeditSTG, but it may or may not work. Post if it works though! Open RegeditSTG and press menu - go to my device. Then click the folders as listed "HKLM" then "SOFTWARE" then "Microsoft" then "Inbox". Now press "menu" and "New key". Type "Settings" there. Now go into the key you just created by pressing enter on it. Here, press "VALUES" (your left soft key). Now press Menu - New Value - DWORD Value Name should be "SMSNoSentMsg" (assume it's case sensitive!) without the quotes. Value data set to 1. Base = decimal Value type = REG_DWORD Now press done, and restart your phone. Send an SMS and see what happens...

Now that it is installed, can I delete the original cab file that was used to install?
Guest thelostsoul Posted January 10, 2008 Report Posted January 10, 2008 oh...you're stuck at installing regeditstg... That's a cab file, not a zip file. In otherwords, it's the installer for you phone. PC's frequently mix up cab's for zips as they can server that purpose. If you have a data plan you could do this: Open IE Menu - Address Bar - type http://mobile.surrealnetworks.com Applications for SDA - first link in that paragraph "app unlocked" then click the "Smartphone" link which will ask you to download the installer. Simply run that on your phone.
