Incease speed of scroll wheel

Hi I'm pretty much a newb when it comes to the smartphone scene, but after using the BJII now for a couple of weeks I have found it to be a great improvement over my old Samsung D807 :( .

One thing I have noticed it that the speed/sensitivity of the scroll wheel is somewhat slow (requires too many revolutions to navigate between fields). when doing things like navigating websites. I was just wondering if it would be possible increase the sensitivity or speed (?) of the scroll wheel so that it would cover more ground in less rotations. Perhaps an registry edit of sorts or would overclocking achieve this (I have yet to do this as it seems to cause some issues). Thanks.

I agree completely. I have always had a little "carpal tunnel" in my right thumb but since using my BJ it is really flaring up. I agree that the rotations one has to make to get the maximum scroll speed is too SLOW. However there isnt a fix for this... :(

Like most BJII users, I think this is long overdue.

FYI, I have noted that whether it is running at normal speeds or overclocked, my BJ II scrolls fastest when turned slowly! :(

Yes, you read that right. The more you get frustrated and spin the wheel, the slower it goes. There seems to be a "sweet spot" speed that gets you the most movement per unit time.

I presume that whatever is monitoring the position of the wheel only checks it so often, and that when you go too fast it just 'misses' some of the position data.

So, I susgest playing around a bit to find the best turn speed for your unit. :D

Cheers!

I agree with you... I want this to speed up dramatically or it is practically useless.

I found a registry settings that has "wheel" in it and appears to adjust the sensitivity. But I haven't figured out exactly how to set it to where it stays put.

HKLM\Software\Samsung\KeyRun value name=WheelSpeed Value=1

The first time I changed it to a 10 the cursor jumped briskly when I was testing it but then it seems to revert back to slower speed again. :D

I will play with it some more and see if anything good comes out of it.

Let us know what happens please. Thanks,

Let us know what happens please. Thanks,

My earlier advice has failed me. Over time the wheel has simply gotten harder to turn. I don't know if it's due to friction from gunck building up below the wheel, or that the top of the wheel has gotten smoother with use and I'm "spinning my thumb" and not the wheel.

On my BJ1, I used a "doughnut" shaped piece of egrips material to make the D-Pad easier to use. I've ordered some more (lost the original supply somewhere) and I'm going to try sticking some to the wheel and seeing if it helps out.

More news as it develops!
