Guest hotphil Posted January 11, 2008 Report Posted January 11, 2008 Not specifically Kaiser related, but maybe someone can help. My Outlook Contacts are all neatly categorised. I was looking for a way of only syncing certain ones from Exchange to the Kaiser. I understand that subfolders of Contacts can't be specified and neither can Categories. However, I can filter the Contacts listed on the Kaiser. This would be great. Only trouble is that every time the Contacts app is closed (or phone rebooted), the filters get reset. Any thoughts on how to get either the filters to remain, or how to only sync certain Contacts? Phil
Guest jontelfer Posted January 11, 2008 Report Posted January 11, 2008 I have something similar up and running I think. On my (work) PC I have two groups of contacts (not subfolders inside "contacts" though), one is called "contacts" which contains all of the people I want on my phone. The other folder is work people. Hope my rambling has given you a clue. Jon
Guest ScrewlooseAZ Posted January 12, 2008 Report Posted January 12, 2008 I have the same complaint. I would like to hide the "Sim Card" Contacts hidden. Since I have all their info copied into the phone. But I want to keep the backup on the sim card just in case my phone dies. Very annoying really that they can't be hidden simply. Or maybe I just don't know how.

Guest ScrewlooseAZ Posted January 12, 2008 Report Posted January 12, 2008 I'm using an HTC Kaiser and I can follow your directions right up to Settings - Phone - But there is no Calling Options.

It's called "call options". but then the s710 is a smartphone and the kaiser a pda phone.. maybe because of that the setting is somewhere else? hope i was able to help... .-ombre-.
Guest ScrewlooseAZ Posted January 13, 2008 Report Posted January 13, 2008 I searched all over. There is no obvious way to make it hide sim card contacts. I can delete them edit them copy them, but not hide them. The only way is to use the "Filtering" option in Contacts to show only those that I have selected for some type of group. But like the 1st post in this thread says. . . The Filters wont Stay. Real bummer. It seem to remember on older WM version you could hide the sim contacts. But not with this one. . . Makes no sense to me.
Guest hotphil Posted January 13, 2008 Report Posted January 13, 2008 This might help for SIM contacts http://www.modaco.com/index.php?s=&sho...st&p=820858 But I'm still stuck with filtering non-SIM contacts... Combined with the fact that even though not scheduled to connect, my Kaiser has just ActiveSync 103 emails and woken me up, I'm finding it an incredibly frustrating device today.

Phil ... have you thought about Pocket Informant, I know that has filtering in it too. Ooooh unlucky ... I don't sync my email using active sync. Ive got my mailbox set up on imap and then archive manually on the PC to a PST file.

The Kaiser already has the Show Sim line you just have to make it 0 instead of 1. Thanks!
