Hiding spot for spare microSD

I recently bought 2 2gb microSD cards (simply because they were cheaper than buying one 4gb). I plan on using them both throughout the day because one has a ton of songs that I play while driving and the other has the lectures that I have to watch (I'm in college and most lectures are video downloads through WMP). The lectures are fairly large files about .5 gb each so I needed the extra space if I wanted to bring them along.

I was faced with the daunting task of keeping track of the other teeny tiny card while I was using the other. Knowing I would someday lose it I began to get curious. I popped off the battery cover and it dawned on me. I wedged the card near where the sim card and reader is located (jagged edge of microSD towards the top of the phone) and popped the battery cover back on. To my surprise it went back on without any signs of misalignment or awkwardness.

Well if anyone else out there is too cheap to splurge on a high dollar / high capacity microSD card, just know that their is a little cubby hole just waiting to house your spare. :(

WOW! Very creative! One question though...did you take the battery out too before popping it in? I can't seem to wedge it in without taking the battery out...

Fortunately for me though, I got myself a 4gig card :)

No I left the battery in. The jagged edge of the microSD slides up into the space between the sim card and the phone. (Maybe my sim card is thinner than yours allowing for more wiggle room).

I know Samsung says 4 GB is the max, but I've heard elsewhere that others have put higher capacity cards in and they've worked, so I put in a 6 GB that I have extra for my Tilt. It is recognized, but sometimes when I switch folders in File Explorer, the contents aren't shown, or are shown by a bunch of little square box symbols. So I think I will stay with a 4 GB - don't want to risk file corruption

Yea, I'm not really too sure what determines it's ability to read higher capacity cards. Anything over 2 gigs is microSDHC, while 2 and under is regular microSD...

Since 4 gigs works, it means microSDHC works, but I don't get why not all HC cards would work. Guess I just don't understand memory well enough yet...

I can say that data corruption is definitely a risk though when it comes to using unofficially supported cards. Chances are, the card will work right up until you pass 4 gigs, or up until you fill it. Then corruption will become a problem. If it doesn't then you've got nothing to worry about.
