New to GSM -- moving SIM card between phones

I have been a Verizon customer for a long time and recently switched to AT&T (Moto Q9h) to get on a GSM network. While I'm familiar with PPC's and Smartphones, I'm a complete noob when it comes to GSM. So here's the question. I'm thinking about getting an unlocked HTC Touch Cruise as a second phone. What's involved in moving the SIM card from the Q, or any GSM phone in general, to another phone? Is it simply a matter of moving it from one to the other, or is additional info necessary? Any help would be appreciated.

It's just a case of swapping the SIM over. I have always used gsm and change cell regulrly swapping SIM in the process.
