Help, HTC S710 (VOX) Homescreen E-mail counter trouble

Good day.

I have explored issue with the defualt (green HTC 1.17 homescreen)

Unread email counter is forever stuck at "e-mail (0)"

I have 3 pop accounts installed with certain number of unread messages in each inbox

Switching to the windows mobile standard (blue) homescreen solves the problem - number of unread emails for each account is diplayed properly. However, no go with the default HTC screen.

Any ideas/suggestion?
