Guest J273 Posted January 13, 2008 Report Posted January 13, 2008 As anyone seen this? Its a modded display driver for the eee which allows you to run it at 1024 x768 :) http://forum.eeeuser.com/viewtopic.php?id=5510
Guest lau Posted January 13, 2008 Report Posted January 13, 2008 I don't think it is modded, my computer does that too if i set the resolution too high.

Guest Prosody Posted January 14, 2008 Report Posted January 14, 2008 The dude who runs EEEuser.com seems to think this works too. :) http://www.eeeuser.com/2008/01/11/your-eee...x1024/#comments
Guest hippotech Posted January 14, 2008 Report Posted January 14, 2008 If you don't mind scrolling around the screen a la ASUS's own 800x600 you can use anything you like. Just go to Display Properties / Settings / Advanced / Monitor and uncheck "Hide modes that this monitor cannot display" You can then use anything that the graphics card supports, but in pan mode. Apologies if this is already known :) Hippo

Not sure about lcd's but with crt's you can actually damage the monitor by displaying resolutions it wasn't designed for. If it turns out that it is a stable driver and no one's lcd dies from displaying the higher res I'll give it a go. In the meantime I am willing to live with the standard driver and let others be the proverbial guinnea pig.
Guest Monolithix Posted January 14, 2008 Report Posted January 14, 2008 I don't think you can damage a LCD panel through the use of odd resolutions, however non-native ones will look grainy as hell :s
