Phone not detected by PC

Something strange happened to the usb connections on my PC over the weekend.

I've done a system restore and everything's now back to normal, with the exception of connecting my phone to the system.

When I did it before, I'd see an animation in the system tray of the network recognising the phone, then activesync starting up to synchronise it.

Now, even after uninstalling/reinstaliing AS a couple of times (with reboots in between), I still don't get the network animation and obviously, no AS.

Can someone tell me what I need to do to get my phone recognised by my PC again?

It's not the phone, as that connected fine with my work PC today.

open activesync

delete all mobile devices

restart your pc and then connect ur device it should detect
