Guest pete_thomson Posted January 15, 2008 Report Posted January 15, 2008 (edited) Hi Peeps, After spending a while putting it off my old SPV C500 is on it's last legs and needs to be replaced fairly sharpish.....but with what? I have a need and a would like list of features, could people direct me towards the phones they'd suggest for consideration? Ok - start with must haves..... WM6, GPS, Wifi and camera at 2MP+ (Auto focus ideally but that is a really nice to have, but not required), network unlocked or unlockable and MicroSD slot. Ideally......3G (althought lack of 3G not a deal breaker), small as possible, battery life must be reasonable (I'm not expecting 24 hours GPS and Wifi use per charge but I remember my MPX200 that lasted 8 hours on standby if I was lucky!!), VGA is nice but QVGA if need be. As fast a CPU as I can get. Available accessories (desktop stand/charger would be a must if not now in the short term). Built in FM radio would be handy too. I was keeping my eye on the Mio A701, then the Eten range, but smartphones with most of the features I want are popping up all over the shop. Lastly, I've looking to around a £300 budget.....but that is a little stretchy for the right phone. Can anyone help?? Pete Edited January 15, 2008 by pete_thomson
Guest Monolithix Posted January 15, 2008 Report Posted January 15, 2008 Have you looked at the Motorola Q9h (seems to fit the bill) or the HTC S730+Bluetooth GPS receiver?
Guest pete_thomson Posted January 17, 2008 Report Posted January 17, 2008 Thanks for that. The Moto is not quite my cup of tea, but the S730 review mentioned the TyTN II which seems to pretty fit the bill...... provided I can get it a little cheaper. I'll be in a position to buy in a couple of weeks so I've got a couple of weeks to look around. Pete
