Guest Chad B. Posted January 16, 2008 Report Posted January 16, 2008 Anyone feel like experimenting...I was able to download the file for the animated Card Wheel Home screen, but can't get it to work with the BJ2. Any ideas or suggestions are appreciated. carousel.test.zip Chad
Guest smitty007 Posted January 16, 2008 Report Posted January 16, 2008 Looks like its missing stuff, I installed the cabs and copied the files but the home screen ends up with a blank background and nothing shows.
Guest dodgebj2 Posted January 19, 2008 Report Posted January 19, 2008 (edited) Well i would be interested in helping to get this to work. i'll download the zip and see if i can work on it alittle. would be nice if we could get alittle more help too. Edited January 19, 2008 by dodgebj2
Guest dodgebj2 Posted January 19, 2008 Report Posted January 19, 2008 (edited) ok i have already made some progress.... First i think the reason the screen is blank is because there is no where in the xml that we have from that zip that is calling for the files top2.png, top1.png, center_tile.png, low1.png, low2.png, low3.png which are the card wheel parts themselves. nor is it calling for the time or the date or anything. Can someone send their xml file for the card wheel to me at [email protected] Edited January 19, 2008 by dodgebj2

If I remember correctly though it is not just a homescreen xml issue, but has its roots much deeper in certain system files. Porting it over to a BJII has not been done yet to my knowledge, but who knows maybe there is other ways to get the card wheel working.

I am aware that he has cooked a rom for the BJ1 but we are trying to work this for the blackjack2. I maybe should take a look at his rom for BJ1 for some of my answers and see how i can correlate it to the bj2.

Here is what Da_G answered to the question of creating a card whell cab for installation: "Unfortunately this wouldn't be possible, the card wheel dll's need to remain as modules - I have not been able to get them to successfully operate as files - this means that they have to be cooked into ROM, as there's no way (that i know of) of installing modules to an already deployed system. Furthermore they're dependant on a specific version of aygshell.dll, which is loaded early on in the boot process, it may already be open and thus write protected by the time the user filesystem is loaded." I assume we will run into the same problems with the BJII.

I noticed that the the plugin id is being called for in the xml file but like it has been stated there is nothing in the bj2 rom about that plugin im sure,
